Saturday was a day mostly for fewer longer games. With images; cc-by-sa on everything.

I worked on my Star Realms: Frontiers solo challenges, trying The Cost of Freedom for the first time - like Blob Assault, it drops one faction out of the deck to become the opposition. Pretty hard work, since the Federation is all about gaining Authority (the game's hit points), and while I felt I was doing a reasonable job of holding it steady I never had much chance of a win. Definitely one to try again.

I got into a couple of games of Roll to the Top!, in which you're placing numbers in ascending (or at least equal-value) columns… but the number and type of dice you're rolling to get those numbers varies. I fell into some obvious traps but still had a good time.

I'd booked to play Firefly: The Game; it was planned to be with all expansions, but we couldn't get a big enough table, so we ended up playing the base game plus Breakin' Atmo. Still had a good time, though; I started with Marco at Regina, got Kaylee early, and ended up pursuing an effective Moral-Crime strategy (mostly for Patience and Badger) which got me a win… but not by as large a margin as I'd thought it might be.

There was plenty of wind and rain, and apparently power cuts across quite a bit of England. This is why you shouldn't build flat roofs in this country…

Next was Sagrada, but I didn't get any pictures of that. A good game, though we all forgot about having to build from the edge. Must find a way of reminding myself.

What turned out to be the last game of the day was Plague Inc.: The Board Game, in which you're a disease trying to wipe out countries. There was a certain amount of card-luck involved, but the eventual winner had had even worse card-luck than I did, so fair enough. Quite fun but the theme didn't feel very connected to the mechanics.

I hung around chatting with people for a while, then went home to bed.
