2014, 13 episodes:
AniDB, sequel to
Free!
(2013).
High school sports club anime: the sport in this instance is swimming.
Unlike the K-On sequel series, this one sticks to its premise:
the principals (and indeed their rivals) have various difficulties to
be overcome with the power of friendship, but they're all related in
some way to their swimming careers.
As with the previous season, this really has very little to say apart
from "look at the impossibly athletic young men" and "friendship
conquers all". It teases the audience with lots of significant
blushing and emotional dependency. (There are a couple of female
characters, but they're even more in the background than they were
last time.) Vaguely fun, inoffensive, but I can't recommend it unless
you're pretty bored, or utterly fascinated by competitive swimming. As
with most sports anime there is a template which allows for no
deviation, and it's the few sections that couldn't just as easily
have been about running that I most enjoyed.
