A select group turned up for the extra barbecue that I called to take
advantage of plausibly good weather (and it turned out pretty well,
the first time since I got the tent that the weather forecast has been
good enough for me not to put it up).
We had an
experimental lamb recipe
(thanks to my wife for doing all the work on this) instead of the
usual goatburgers, and this called for a big fire at the start of
cooking as well as pre-cooking the thing in the oven.
The lamb leg is at the top (and was very good). Just in case, I put
some other things on too. The chilli-lime chicken drumsticks didn't
visibly change as they got cooked, which I regard as unhelpful.
A guest brought thinly-sliced reindeer for the Donner and Blitzen
kebabs.
BĂ©arnaise sauce is apparently a vital component. (And salad.)
Pre-crushed pretzels with various degrees of chilli.
After some inroads had been made.
The wasps tried to get in on the act, and carry off crumbs bigger than
they were.
Dead soldiers. (Heavily enhanced; it was fairly dark at this point.)
