"Everyday Life with Monster Girls". Various fantastic species suddenly
exist, and some of them live with host families in Japan.
No, really, I watched it for the plot.
There are plenty of sex jokes and bouncing breasts here, there's only
one male recurring character and all the monster girls want to marry,
or at least sleep with, him in a hackneyed harem setup, and the
original source material was a series of short hentai manga… and yet,
clearly someone took a bit of trouble to make this watchable. Our hero
Kurusu Kirihito does spend a lot of time going "waah" at the actions
of his guests, but he's also genuinely trying to be a good guy. Many
of the jokes actually amused me. This is basically slapstick comedy, a
genre I usually don't enjoy, but it does it so well and so thoroughly
that I found myself getting on with it anyway.
There's a mermaid who wears a frilly cap. It's that sort of show.
I still can't really recommend it, but if it should come your way
you might find it amusing. An OVA is expected late in 2016.
