Third time at the Marlow Donkey and the sixth monthly meeting of this
Meetup-based
boardgames group.
With six of us at the short-games table, we started with
Ricochet Robots,
on a rather harder board than last time. I started to get the idea
towards the end, but for me this is one to play occasionally, and
ideally when I'm feeling a bit more mentally active than I was this evening.

Captain Sonar
next, with six players of whom four had played before, so we split the
two newcomers between us. Still turn-based, and everyone picked it up
effectively, though I made a major error, took a damage box as
compensation, and our side lost as a result.

Finally
Codenames: Pictures,
where the supplied cards seemed a bit too clearly set up to contain
two elements (a submarine… with legs, or an alarm clock… with a
fountain).

So for the second game we tried it with Dixit cards instead, and it
all got rather stranger.

Might be worth trying with Mysterium cards too.
