2016 police parody, 10 episodes. Detective Angie Tribeca solves crimes
in the RHCU, the Really Heinous Crimes Unit.
Season 1 worked for me (though not for everyone); this one didn't
quite. It's just a bit too heavy on the one-liners, and on tweaking
characters around so that they're lined up to slot into the jokes
rather than letting the jokes arise from the characters.
"Should I be taking to a lawyer?"
"No ma'am, that would make our job a lot harder."
There are still good moments, and there's even an ongoing plot which
leads to a very fine scene in the last episode in which Mission
Impossible-style perfect face masks get removed, but mostly the pace
has slackened and I have time to see the frayed edges.
"I did not go to six weeks of online dog-training school to betray
the cornerstone of my profession."
Strictly for the enthusiast, though ratings stayed respectable and the
series has been renewed for a third season.
