2016 modern fantasy, shounen manga adaptation in 25 episodes:
AniDB, vt
"Circle of Reincarnation". High school student Mamiya Sakura, and
Rokudō Rinne the shinigami, continue to have wacky adventures dealing
with the spirit world.
The cast continues to expand, and there's essentially no progress
in any of the core relationships. In fact this is a good example for
role-players of the difference between being short of money and having
the Poverty disadvantage: Rinne is permanently poor because it's on
his character sheet, so even if he makes some money it'll be
instantly gone to pay for some new liability or other. Whenever we see
him in his flat (bare walls, minimal furniture) he's making artificial
flowers to pull in a few yen, and the mere idea of "real"
(convenience-store) food sends him into ecstasy.
There aren't as many new character introductions as there were in
season 1, but most of the episodes could be taken out of order;
there's very little overall narrative direction, with most of the
focus on the problem of the week, and interactions between characters
who will individually behave in fairly predictable ways. The world
does start to feel quite crowded, with answers established for most of
the interesting world-building questions.
More of the same, basically. Another season is expected in the spring
2017 slot.
