This
Meetup-based
boardgames group continues to meet at the Marlow Donkey.
Since we were down to five (I think people may be taking late
holidays), we started with
Mysterium,
which was new to a couple of the players - and the lighting defeated
my camera technique, so no photos of the cards this time. (Most games
look fairly similar anyway.) I wasn't the ghost for a change, only the
second game when I haven't been.
We went on to
Bohnanza, one of
the original "German games" that got the UK/American boardgame
revolution going. It hits my abstraction gap square-on (it has a
theme, but paying attention to the theme will only distract you from
the game), but once I'd got past that I quite enjoyed it in spite of
coming last.
