This
Meetup-based
boardgames group continues to meet at the Marlow Donkey. We planned
for a long day of gaming.
As it turned out, we had the same players as at the first Boxing
Day Boardgames meet, so we didn't play The Captain Is Dead again.
Instead we started with
Lovecraft Letter;
it's pretty chaotic with six, and I think the four-player game last
time was better, but it still worked.
We tried
Secret Moon,
which I picked up in a trade at Essen. It's a social deduction game
without any lying (but with very constrained speech). It's a bit odd,
but I'll definitely give this another go.
My last game of the day was
Evolution, at
which I did as terribly as I'd expected. (It does seem to me that
whoever can get Scavenger into play first has a huge advantage.)
At this point my back was hurting a lot; with concentration shot and a
general sense of non-fun about the day, I thought it was best to leave
and rest. Oh well. The others went on to play
Elfenland.
