This Meetup-based
boardgames group continues to meet at the Marlow Donkey.
With eleven people, we started with a couple of rounds of
Codenames.
Still not a favourite of mine, and we ran into conceptual differences
even between the English players, never mind the American, which
didn't help.

My copy of
Deception: Murder in Hong Kong
has arrived (from the Undercover Allies kickstarter last year) and we
played that next. Possibly a bit too much setup for the game play we
got out of it, but this is definitely one I want to play more; it
straddles Mysterium and The Resistance in gameplay, and I very
much like both those games.

The group split, with 7 Wonders on one side of the pub; I went for
four-player
Machi Koro,
where I thought I was doing all right at first but things fell apart
somewhere around the transition to two dice.

We finished the evening with a hand of
Red 7, which I won
just as last orders were called.
