2017 modern fantasy, seinen manga adaptation, 13 episodes:
AniDB.
Kobayashi the office worker gets drunk one night, and in the morning
finds a dragon outside her front door – who's come to stay with her
and be her maid. vt Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.
That's most of the plot, really. Tohru the dragon is childishly
enthusiastic and largely ignorant of the human world, and she and
Kobayashi gradually work out ways of living with each other. Various
other dragons show up to complicate things, but it's basically slice
of life rather than coming to a conclusion.
So it's a lightweight comedy, but it's a lightweight comedy that
actually amuses, and sometimes touches on serious subjects too; for
example the correct degree of obedience to one's parents, and the
problems in relationships when there are large differences in life
expectancy. (And yes, sigh, there's a character with big breasts who
shows them off at every opportunity.) But overall it's vastly better
than one would expect from the premise.
These's no opposition who can't be talked out of it, and conflict of
any sort is minimised; I suppose this counts as "feel-good" if your
heart is not a clinkered husk like mine. And even I rather enjoyed it;
in a fairly dull season, it's a stand-out show simply because the
people involved seem to have put in real effort rather than stopping
at "meh, good enough".
