This Meetup-based
boardgames group continues to meet at the Marlow Donkey.
We started with seven of us playing
Unstable Unicorns,
which seemed to combine a fair bit of Exploding Kittens and a little
bit of Fluxx and Munchkin. Not really my favourite games, and this
won't be either, but it was OK as a one-off.
We split into two groups, and I played
Sagrada – third
play, second last-place finish. There was something about that first
game that just worked perfectly for me, and now I have to slog at
getting it back.
Some of the other players are determined to help with my
52 game challenge,
so we played
Marrakech ("a
game with fabric") at which I did remarkably badly.
Oddly, though, I won at
Autumn (another
52-game-challenge game, this one qualifying for "a game from a BGG
design contest"), which in some ways has quite similar mechanics; I
think I saw a key play just in time. Wouldn't mind giving this another
go some time.
On the other side of the room, they were playing
7 Wonders
and Codenames.
We finished off with a few hands of
Red7, and one of
the others joined us for the last game.
