I went over to a friend's place for boardgames.
With one player quite new to modern boardgames and wanting to try
different styles, we started with two games of Forbidden
Island,
which I think is not a game I'll ever love, but we still had a good
time… losing.
Then on to Flash Point: Fire
Rescue,
which came out just about the best way this game can: there was a
point at which we thought we were pretty much doomed to fail, but then
we started hauling out victims and completed the quota at the last
moment.
