This Meetup-based
boardgames group continues to meet at the Marlow Donkey.
With a couple of new players, we started with
6 nimmt!, more for
fun than for anything particularly serious.

Then on to The
Resistance,
where for once I drew the Commander… but didn't do a great job of
getting the message over to the other rebels, so I had to be quite
unsubtle to get us the win, and therefore was assassinated.

Shelf of Shame entry Among
Thieves
next, and like Shogunate it's great fun – even if it is basically
Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma the Card Game. I'm not sure about the
random events, though; perhaps they're a bit too random?
Note to self: when teaching this in future, make sure everyone knows
which endgame condition is in which deck, because there's some
interesting tactical play there.

Finally FUSE, for
which I sat out and turned cards (and messed up the instructions
slightly), and two other players took a break. A reasonable showing
for a first ever game. (I.e. a loss.) But I think I'll bring this one
back to this group; it's also conveniently small.
