This Meetup-based
boardgames group has moved on-line for the moment; we got together on
Jitsi and then played some games on BoardGameArena.
My third game of Stone
Age, and much to
my surprise things came together just enough for me to win. (Barely.)
We all prioritised agriculture and hardly any hunting happened; all
the gold came from card rewards rather than actually panning for it. I
still find this quite enjoyable; since I wasn't playing many modern
boardgames when it came out, I haven't played it to death the way many
more experienced gamers have.
That took most of our time, but we finished with
Hanabi; as usual,
we were ferociously pushed for clue tokens, but we managed to scrape
together a basic language and finish with 21/25. (I still think this
is best played between people who haven't played it many times before,
because it's that construction of a means of communication, rather
than the using of it, that's the fun part for me.)
