I got together with some local friends for boardgames in the garden
(open air, though under cover in the gazebo, with masks).
This seemed to work quite well, though wind will be a concern
when we do it again; if we're going to get the benefit of open air,
we can't really do much to prevent the wind from blowing things about.
I know BGG has a weight rating for games, but that's not quite what
I'm looking for…
We ended up playing Aeon's End, and the excellent randomiser
site ended up giving us Brama
(Aeon's End), Nym (AE/The Depths), Quilius (War Eternal) and Indira
(WE/The Outer Dark) against Blight Lord (AE/The Nameless).
It didn't go well, and we lost in tier 2 due to exhaustion of the
Tainted track as we failed to get Tainted Jades back into the supply
pile. I really can't blame the other players; it was the first or
second game for them, and I should have been giving clearer
directions. (On the other hand we were all sitting back from the play
area rather than looking over each other's cards. At least that's my
excuse.)
I haven't played this in honest sunlight before. The accessory pack
gems look pretty good.
