This Meetup-based
boardgames group remains on-line for the moment; as usual we got
together on Jitsi and then played some games online.
BoardGameArena has Battle
Sheep,
otherwise known as Hey, That's My Field since the gameplay's quite
similar to Hey, That's My Fish!. Each given an initial flock of 16
sheep, you take turns to split them (evenly or not, but at least one
sheep in each part), the split part moving as far in a straight line
as it can. The game ends when nobody can move. There are in theory
enough spaces for each sheep to have one of its own, but that isn't
going to happen…
A bit thinky (particularly as the number of movable pieces you can
choose among goes up, then down) but not bad; I'll try it again when
I'm in the right mood.
Then on to Stone
Age. For once I
didn't have agriculture to myself, so instead I picked up tools and
tool multipliers. On the downside, I came second; on the upside, stone
axes are dual-use technologies and we can bash the winners' heads in
and take their stuff.
