This Meetup-based
boardgames group remains on-line for the moment; as usual we got
together on Jitsi and then played some games online.
Colt
Express, not
in its best mode (that's with the Marshal expansion, which BGA doesn't
have) but still good fun. Once more I made sure I told everyone about
the Shootiest Bandit Award (I'm sure it has a name but I don't
remember it), and once more I won with it anyway. But I also had both
strongboxes.
Then on to
Tranquility,
a coop tile placement game. The board is a bit of a deception;
vertical adjacency means nothing, and in mechanical terms it's one
long row. So given that you have tiles from 1 to 80 and spaces from 1
to 36, it's helpful to be able to multiply by 9/20 in your head to
work out where a tile should go. Interesting but I can't see myself
laying down money for a copy, or even giving it house-room if it were
given to me.
We finished off with some more of The
Crew,
still hard work with five but we seem to be getting the hang of it.
It's a shame the mission goals are randomised; some setups are very
much easier than others for what's nominally the same mission, and
sometimes I feel we may just be plugging on until we get one that's
within our range of ability.
