As many of you know, the landlady of our excellent local died at the
start of December, so they didn't open in the short window before
Christmas. Now it's possible again.
(A sale is on the cards – I don't blame the landlord – but
nothing definite is known yet.)
Of course I went along on the first possible day. I have never had a
good local before this place, having always lived in London. Holy
Capitalism dictates that rent must still be paid even when there's no
income.
In spite of the snow first thing on Monday morning, there were about
15 people in the beer garden while we were there, with plenty of space
between them.
Scotch eggs and real ale. (Hoppit, in this case. On excellent form of
course.)
We left when the snow started again. (Not very much of it, really.)
