This Meetup-based
boardgames group remains on-line for the moment; as usual we got
together on Jitsi and then played some games on BGA.
We started with
P.I., a multi-way
deduction game (pick your suspect, location and crime out of 12, 14
and 10 options, using a 2-3-4-3-2 hex board). This seems like a
multiplayer solitaire game at first, but as play progresses the clues
other players ask for start to lock down one's own options.
I improvised a record sheet using a screenshot and Inkscape (colours
for suspect/location/crime, X for invalid, square for possible, circle
for confirmed) but I have an idea for a paper record sheet that ought
to work with the physical game. (And there are two similar versions on
BGG already.)
Definitely enjoyable, though a little odd (I suspect that handling the
physical bits could get quite fiddly, and you can just get lucky with
your picks, as one of us did in one of the three rounds – which I've
seen happen in Martin Wallace games before). Worth a further look even
so.
Then on to more of The
Crew.
I confess I've mostly lost my enthusiasm for this but it's still
more enjoyable than not.
