Tenth in this series of one-day conventions, and my first in-person
RPGs for quite some time.
A fair old slog to get there, with lots of motorway delays in
spite of general unavailability of fuel. But my room was on the 16th
floor of the hotel, and had a decent view over Leeds (east along Boar
Lane; that's Holy Trinity in the middle distance).
I think this may once have been the support for an armrest or allied
trade.
Crossing the Aire on the way to the Royal Armouries.
Waiting for the train back from Saltaire on Saturday night.
The event was held in The Leeds
Library, a subscription
library (now organised as a charity) founded in 1768, in its present
building since 1808. (Yes, the camera was level, but the building
isn't always…)
I was in the old office, site of the Famous Safe (alas concealed
behind a display case).
But I did run my game on a table that was older than the USA.
As for the game itself… this was the third run in two weeks,
thanks to Heroic Playtesters, and everything came together well.
Having the event on a Sunday meant I ended up driving home on Monday
morning, but this is still a splendid lot of people, and while the old
venue was all right it was desperately modern; this one is fun.
