A small game session to celebrate the end of a painful house-move.
First, The Bird Told Me To Do
It,
which I rapidly discovered I had completely forgotten – not just the
usual "this is a bit unfamiliar" but "I have no recollection of
playing this at all". Even though I know I have done so, and when it
was and with whom. By the end of the game I was just about working out
how to play again.
On to Targi, my
first play in person rather than on BoardGameArena or Yucata. The
extra work of moving tokens and replacing cards is not burdensome, and
I found myself liking the game all over again as I met it on an actual
table. (I got lots of goods and spammed the Silversmith, to the point
that we ran out of victory point tokens at one stage, but still only
won by a single point.)
Finally
Piepmatz, a
game of squabbling songbirds. I fell in love with this at once, and
I'll definitely be looking for more chances to play it.
