This Meetup-based
boardgames group continues to meet in the Britannia.
Tonight's session was mostly Forbidden
Desert.
It always feels very mechanistic, and really needs someone who can
both be in charge of planning out actions beyond the immediate turn
but at the same time not trample over other players. Fortunately we
had such a person. So I think this is about as good as it gets, and by
the standards of the games I really like that leaves it as "OK" rather
than "great".
On to Just One,
with one non-native-English speaker who nonetheless did an excellent
job. (The feeling this game generates very well: I realise that I
don't know how much the Scottish player at the table knows about
Scottish folk songs, so with a target of "Johnny" I can't tell whether
"Cope" will be recognised…)
