This Meetup-based
boardgames group continues to meet in the Britannia, but this time
several people couldn't make it so we stayed closer to home.
We started with new acquisition
Inkling, in
which you're using letter cards to give clues to words – but you can
get inventive with how those letter components are arranged. I suspect
that like Hanabi the real pleasure is in working out a set of
conventions, but I had a good time anyway and I'd like to try this
again (ideally with four or more players).
Then on to Tiny Epic
Galaxies,
in which I went all-out for my secret mission (have fewer planets than
anyone else) without quite realising how few points it would give –
but since it meant I went for the high-value planets, that turned out
to be quite a good thing. I feel more favourably about the game than
last time I played it. Definitely didn't take the advertised half an
hour, though, and I don't think we spent much time havering over what
to do.
