This Meetup-based
boardgames group continues, this evening at my place.
And, by request, a surprise game of Aeon's
End, which I
haven't touched for too long. (The vast majority of my plays have
involved demonstrating it, including its variants and expansions, at
Essen.)
It took a bit of work to load the rules back into my mind but it came
together reasonably well. (I need a better term for the "pending
discard" stack of cards you've played this turn that aren't on your
discard pile yet.)
On the other hand (using mostly original box content) we lost
comprehensively against Carapace Queen.
I also need better organisation for this game! (Not so much the cards,
but the other ancillary bits.) I haven't even got Past and Future
integrated into the main boxes, and probably it won't fit; and finding
and deploying the various bits took rather longer than it should have.
But the thing that really struck me was how much I wanted to play it
again – even though I now have Sentinels of the Multiverse which in
gameplay terms does many of the same things.
