Well, all right, these are the whitest jazz men I've seen outside
English pub bands—but that's sadly plausible for the era. And insanity
doesn't work even a little bit like that. But there's some solid
acting, and an early role for Gloria Grahame, doing that thing that
she did so well. (And Dean Stockwell appears as Nick Jr!)
This isn't explicitly a conclusion to the series, but it has the good
stuff, the snappy dialogue and the contrast between light-hearted Nick
and Nora and the deadly serious criminals, and… well, usually either a
series cuts off suddenly while it's still worth watching, or it gets
dragged out forever being less and less fun until even the old fans
come to hate it. I'm glad this one took the former option.
