We wish you a merry Newtonmas, and a happy new year.
On 25 December, a child was born who would change the world
forever. So of course we shall be celebrating with the traditional
activities:
-
searching through a box of sand and sea-shells for the "prettier
shell than ordinary";
-
standing on a giant (or at least the tallest person present);
-
poking each other's eyes with bodkins [check this? - ed.];
-
hanging around in a pub until someone utters base coin;
-
getting very stoned and trying to work out what the Bible really
means, man;
-
mostly resisting the temptation to invest in the South Seas Company,
or invent a universal language, even though everyone else is doing
it.
