Wolvercote Games Again 12 November 2024

The Oxford Meeples had another quarterly games day, and I had a great time again.

We started with Imperium: Horizons, a three-sided match with Egyptians, Greeks and Mauryans (new player).

After lunch, and a quick round of Sea Salt & Paper, we went on to join Gibberers: The Word Game of Language Invention and Civilization Development (available in small numbers at Essen). Starting with an 18-word vocabulary, you take turns conveying increasingly difficult concepts and expanding the language. I found it enjoyable, but quite hard mental work—and therefore something I wouldn't want to play too often.

I should remind myself (hello, future Roger) that I always enjoy these things.

GIBBERERS sounds fascinating. And looks to be unavailable.

    Curses!

Currently only exists as a Japanese import plus sticker pack. There may be an English release eventually.
