Moose Madness, Mar Delaney 21 March 2025

2021 paranormal romance novella. Maggie grew up in Moose Point, never one of the Popular Girls, and has ended up working at the local (and only) Bar. Fiona was the chief Mean Girl and vanished away as soon as she could, but now she's back for her cousin's wedding…

Oh yeah, and they're both werecreatures: Fiona is a werewolf, and Maggie is a weremoose. Because hey, why not? Also in this world where you're a shapeshifter and you meet your Destined Mate, you know it. And of course they are.

Fiona has done a lot of growing up, but she still has the history of being a bully to live down. Maggie simply wasn't expecting anything like this, and has a lot of history telling her it's not going to work.

That said, there's not much of the conventional progress of a romance: no real obstacles in the path of True Love, for example, though there is some very minor peril. Mostly this is about the feeling of a new and slightly edgy relationship as it quickly moves into a life-uprooting passion.

I mean, there's nothing here that actually relies on the paranomal setting except for the Destined Mate bit, and maybe it would have been more fun if there were. But I still enjoyed it.
