Back to the boardgame café.
We started with a Friedemann Friese design, Fast
Sloths ("Faultier" in the
original). I got a strong Elfenland feel from it: you're trying to
visit all the trees, in any order, by getting lifts on various
different animals, each of which has its own terrain restrictions and
movement speeds. Less randomness than in Elfenland, and although I
have no immediate enthusiasm for buying it, I'd be happy to play
again.

Neither of my fellow players had played The Crew: The Quest for
Planet Nine so we had a
couple of rounds of that next (with the very well-worn shop copy). I
confess I rather lacked enthusiasm for going back to it, but I think I
managed a fair job of showing off both the good side (trick-taking
adapted for an entirely different purpose from the usual one) and the
bad (the way the random goal cards can give you something that's
essentially impossible).

Finally Courtisans which
I haven't had out much lately. Harder work to remember the rules
without my convenient and easy-to-read
rulebook but we did all right
anyway. Good fun as always.
