We began with a minor classic, The Quest for El
Dorado, which I haven't
played before. I've heard people say it's a bit like Lemminge. and I
can see the argument: there are three terrain types, water, jungle and
village, and you need appropriate cards to move through them. But
unlike that game, cards (particularly the village ones) are also used
to buy more cards, and eliminating the low-value starter cards takes
specific effects.
I was very surprised to see that we had a pretty close finish: two
players crossed the line on the same round, and the third (yes, all
right, I) would have been there on the next round.
I'm not going to rush and buy it at once, but I did have a good time
and I'll at least think about picking this up at some point.

Project L next, and I'm
starting to think that the real trick may be in making the best of a
poor start.

On to FUSE, which we
missed by two cards.

And finally
Pixies, where I messed
up the scoring but we were all playing by the same rules and it still
made for an interesting game.
