2025 romantic fantasy novella, second of its series. Margaret Lady
Riven is on honeymoon with her vampire husband, at an inn in the
middle of the Black Forest…
There's a variety of supernatural creatures there, and they're
all suspicious of humans, but Margaret fears nothing except her own
inadequacies (and being compelled to socialise); she's there to get on
with her research.
If Lord Riven is a bit too much in love with her to have much
personality of his own, fair enough, he at least has good reason to be
(as seen in the first book); in stories like this I ideally like to
see the couple acting as a couple rather than going off and doing
their own separate things, but this is much more focused on Margaret's
point of view (and indeed on establishing her as a heroine much to her
own surprise), and it still works on that basis.
Light and short, but great fun.
